The HR Branch provides HR consultancy and business support to public and private sector organisations across the East Midlands and beyond. With a unique understanding of the complexity of public sector organisations, we bring this expertise to businesses of all shapes and sizes.

Flexibility

At The HR Branch, our team offers complete flexibility for clients and can work on a project basis or on a monthly retainer depending on the client's needs. We offer the benefit of experienced HR consultants who are available to ensure that we support your business and that any urgent requirements can be accommodated.

Experience

Our consultants have extensive experience across a variety of HR projects including merging council services, delivering HR strategies, payroll and pensions advice and generalist HR support. We specialise in TUPE and we have supported many clients to resolve multiple transfers and legacy TUPE issues. Our consultants have DBS experience at lead counter signatory level and can advise on DBS matters and safer recruitment.

Your HR department

The HR Branch can support clients on an ongoing basis offering a helpline, on-site attendance and bespoke documentation. Our consultants can act as your HR department or an additional HR resource working closely with management teams and boards of Directors to not only ensure legal compliance and best practice but also to support business growth. 

We have significant commercial and senior management experience to be able to support leaders to deliver their aims.

Our team of HR Specialists

Katharine Nundy

Director | MCIPD, MSc HRM

Katharine is an experienced Director level consultant with a background in delivering effective HR solutions. Previously operating at senior leadership level in district councils and being a current Director of a multi-million-pound turnover SME, she has worked on supporting start-ups, high-growth SMEs, organisational structure reviews, reward strategies, job evaluation, senior pay and reward, senior management recruitment and exits and transformational change.

Katharine is highly valued by clients for adopting a practical, commercial approach and adding value through HR. Katharine believes in collaborating with clients to deliver HR strategies for business growth, leadership development and complex employee relations matters.

Rebecca Gardner

Director | Associate CIPD, MAAT

Rebecca is an experienced HR professional with over 15 years HR Manager experience. She is also a qualified accountant with a payroll management background. Throughout her career, Rebecca has been involved in all aspects of HR with a passion for employee relations. Most recently she has supported clients with redundancy programmes, long term sickness cases, disciplinary and grievance investigations and payroll and pensions advice, alongside provision of generalist HR support.

Rebecca is well regarded by clients for her structured, methodical approach to managing people and ensuring business-focused solutions are achieved.

Anna Robinson

HR Advisor

Anna started her HR career by completing a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resources Management at Lincoln University after completing her first degree at Royal Holloway, London.

She has been fortunate to pepper her HR career in the UK with stints in Canada and Australia where she also worked in business and recruitment.

Anna is a versatile member of the team with particular experience in HR policies, HR projects, payroll processing and advice, recruitment, HR systems and generalist HR advice.

Kathryn Heatherington

HR Administrator

Kathryn started her career with the HR Branch as an apprentice whilst she undertook a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Business at Boston College. Since completing her apprenticeship, she has become a permanent, invaluable member of the team where she supports clients with payroll processing, HR administration and dealing with general enquiries.

Kathryn makes sure the daily administrative operations of the business run smoothly and supports The HR Branch consultants. She is also the technical IT guru for our team and troubleshoots all of the problems we find along the way.

Kate Frain

Associate/ FCIPD, PG DipL

Kate is an HR professional with over 20 years’ experience working at a senior level across private, public and charity sectors with both SMEs and global corporations. Particularly skilled in Employee Relations, she has successfully executed a large number of business change programmes working in partnership with senior stakeholders. Kate brings an ability to simplify, communicate clearly and solve the thorniest of issues and as a small business owner herself, she is well positioned to support clients in a practical proactive way focusing on reaching positive outcomes often in difficult circumstances.
